"I didn’t get a proper look at the bottle but doubt that it’s 750ml. Price is approximately. 330 bottles are released each year. The wine is drawn from a span of vintages ranging across roughly 100 years; average age of the wine is 50 years. The price may well be in ‘stupid’ territory but the quality quite ridiculously good. Yes to fabulous intensity and yes to a complex array of flavours but that everlasting linger of flavour to the finish is a blaze of glory if ever there was one. Spicy and intensely sweet, aged and fresh all at once. Mind-blowing.
98 points - Huon Hooke, The Real Review
"Full amber/tawny colour with yellow-green rim. The bouquet is matchlessly complex and multi-faceted, yet with great freshness. Walnuts, dried fruits, old leather armchairs, a wine of enormous complexity and charm. Amazing power and richness, very sweet but also wonderful rancio and acidity drying the finish. Marvellous balance and persistence. A great fortified wine. 98 Points.
