Overview:
First vintaged in 1974 alongside the inaugural Jimmy Watson winning edition of Wolf Blass Black Label, John's Blend was an instant success when it was ultimately released in 1977. The youthful John Glaetzer had already spent time working with Wolf Blass and alongside some of Australia's greats. John's Blend evolved as Glaetzer's own role became inceasingly prominent with Wolf Blass. The techniques that Glaetzer has employed for over forty years are simple, select nothing but the best grapes and complete the fermentation in the finest new oak.

2006 JOHN'S BLEND - CABERNET SAUVIGNON - NO.33
Palate - A full bodied style of intense flavors and complexity. An exceptional rich palate of chocolate/eucalypt with a firm tannin structure. A classic Langhorne Creek Cabernet Sauvignon which has the potential to age at least 15 years from date of bottling (September 2009).
2005 JOHN’S BLEND – CABERNET SAUVIGNON – NO.32
Palate - Medium bodied with exceptional fruit intensity, rich flavour integrated with oak. This wine will certainly develop more complexity with bottle age.
2004 JOHN’S BLEND – CABERNET SAUVIGNON – No.31
Palate – Full bodied and displaying chocolate and eucalypt flavours. Soft, rich with firm yet fine tannin structure. This wine will bottle age very well for at least 10-12 years.
2002 JOHN’S BLEND – CABERNET SAUVIGNON – No.29
Palate – A full bodied wine with intense flavour. Rich and soft palate, it will certainly benefit with extended bottling age – say 10 years plus.
2001 JOHN’S BLEND – CABERNET SAUVIGNON – No.28
Palate – Intensely flavoured, complex and full bodied, displaying typical Langhorne Creek eucalypt/mint characters with well-balanced oak flavour completing the fine tannin structure. This wine will continue to benefit with further bottle maturation - excess of 10 years to peak.
1999 JOHN’S BLEND – CABERNET SAUVIGNON - No.26
Palate - A full bodied red with firm tannins, a very long, lingering flavour of oak combined with the classic Langhorne Creek eucalypt and mint. At present quite tight and will certainly benefit from extended bottled maturation - 15 years plus.
