2020 Howard Park 'Allingham' Chardonnay Magnum (1.5L)
Margaret River Chardonnay looking super elegant and so, so fine. A striking and inviting bouquet, all almond meal, citrus, nectarine and buttery. In this, its eleventh vintage release, Allingham combines the long-time Margaret River Chardonnay clone, Gin Gin or Mendoza, noted for its generous, luscious fruit with a bunch of Dijon clones. The resulting flavours are concentrated in stone fruits and bright with an added touch of quince and lemon drop. French oak brings a warm, emerging texture. The backdrop is a solid backbone of refreshing acidity. Allingham is yet to explore its full potential, but the complexity so riveting now in its youth can only build.

“… The palate follows suit, blossoming into ripe stone fruit. Mlf contributes creaminess and the high-quality fruit has significant weight that carries it through the finish. Acidity on the mid-palate strays to the ‘nettly’ space – all this needs is a year or so to come together.”
