2006 House of Arras 'E.J Carr' Late Disgorged

$236.00

Trophy - Best Australian Sparkling
London’s International Wine Competition 2022

99 Points & Top 100 Wines of 2021 James Halliday
“Extraordinary: still so fresh and balanced, minerally, laser-like acidity; infinite length, apple, pear, brioche and honey coexistence seems impossible, but it’s not, nor is its ability to stare down Champagne. 67/33% chardonnay and pinot noir from Derwent Valley and the East Coast. Spent 14 years on lees, the dosage only 2.6g/l. Disgorged March ’21.”

97 points Wine Enthusiast
With 14 years on lees, this now 16-year-old wine, from one of the world's most renowned sparkling regions and celebrated winemakers (Ed Carr), stands its own again the most premium of Champagne. Both opulent and vibrant, the flavors are so well integrated they're hard to extract. Lemon curd mingles with wild mushroom, melted butter and brioche. Remarkably fresh with poise and flavor depth mounted in a frame of structure and texture that's both mouthfilling and linear, with a finish that goes on and on. It's classy as all hell.
