Wild mushrooms on the nose with brewed tea and cherry stones. Savory, pleasantly earthy and mellow, with a medium body and a bark-like bitterness that is quite attractive
91 Points James Suckling (April 2024)
Aurelien Verdet Cote de Nuits Village La Prêtière 2020, Our Price $99
A lush, succulent version, boasting black cherry, blackberry, dark chocolate and toasty spice aromas and flavors. This is more about the immediate impact, yet finishes long, too. Alluring. Drink now through 2028.
92 Points Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator (May 2024)

1st Course (TBC)

2nd Course

Aurelien Verdet Marsannay 'Champs Perdrix' 2020, Our Price $90
An opulent red, this delivers a mix of black cherry, blackberry, sandalwood and leafy, vegetal flavors shaded by spices and iron. Shows vibrancy that persists from beginning to end, with a lingering, spicy finish. Best from 2025 through 2033.
92 Points Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator (May 2024)

2nd Course (TBC)

3rd Course
Aurelien Verdet Nuits-St-Georges 2020, Our Price $139
A smooth red marked by black cherry, blackberry, sandalwood and Middle Eastern spices. Vibrant and harmonious, this lingers with generous fruit and toasted spice notes on the long aftertaste. Fluid and charming enough to enjoy now. Drink now through 2033.

Aurelien Verdet Morey-Saint-Denis 2021, Our Price $150
Aurelien Verdet Morey-Saint-Denis 2019, Our Price $150
From the Pierre Virant vineyard at the top of the slope. Lively bright purple with a very classy nose. Rich fruit in perfect balance, filling the mouth with a coherence superior to the Chambolle. Fine boned yet with all the fruit you need. This is one to look out for
91 Points Jasper Morris, Insideburgundy (March 2021)

3rd Course (TBC)

4th Course
Aurelien Verdet Morey-Saint-Denis 1er cru 'Les Monts Luisants' 2021, Our Price $286
Aurelien Verdet Nuits-Saint-Georges 'Les Damodes' 1er Cru 2020, Our Price $260
Ripe black cherry and blackberry fruit is matched by sweet spices in this fleshy, fluid red. This is firmly structured, darkening on the finish, with flashes of sandalwood, incense and earth. Needs time to absorb the tannins. Best from 2027 through 2045.
93 Points Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator (May 2024)
Aurelien Verdet Nuits-Saint-Georges 'Les Damodes' 1er Cru 2018, Our Price $260

Domaine Aurelien Verdet

Aurélien Verdet still flies under the radar, but his are Burgundies not to be missed. They have the purity and personality of the best Pinot Noir and he adapts every vintage beautifully to the style of the season. His cellars are tucked away in the quiet village of Arcenant in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits and he keeps a fairly low profile, preferring to spend his time in his organically farmed vineyards. His father, Alain, planted the vineyards in 1971 and farmed them organically from the start, making them possibly the oldest organic vineyards in Burgundy.

He has a range of excellent premiers crus, including contracts with vineyards across the Côte de Nuits (mostly in Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-St-Georges). Aurélien’s wines offer refreshingly good value, showing a juicy approachability at villages level and more serious structure up the quality ladder.

Taking over from his father in 2005, Aurélien Verdet tirelessly carries on the Domaine's legacy of organic viticulture and chiselled pure wines. The Domaine now comprises holdings in the Hautes Côtes de Nuits, Vosne Romanée villages, 1er Cru Beaux Monts, 1er Cru Nuits Damodes and Boudots all of which are organically certified. Aurélien's dedication to his meticulously cultivated vines ensures exceptional fruit quality, which is further enhanced by his minimal intervention approach in the cellar. His wines are a pure joy to discover and to cellar.
