“I don’t think any acclaim this House has received has ever been sufficient”. After more than 30 years' intensive experience, I have ripped up my old list of Champagne’s greatest producers and started afresh with Charles Heidsieck firmly at the top.

There are other great producers, but none that can match the consistency of Charles Heidsieck cuvée for cuvée, from the basic non-vintage through vintage to prestige cuvée.”

The Wine List & (Menu TBC)

1st Course
Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Blancs, Our Price $152
(Base Wine 2018, Disgorged 2022)
There is a luscious, creamy, juicy and enticing mood to the 2018 base Blanc de Blancs that encapsulates the ravishing mood of Charles and contrasts it emphatically and magnificently with the white-fruited elegance of chardonnay in beautiful layers of white peach, grapefruit and lemon zest. Fine chalk minerality meshes seamlessly with a harmonious interplay between focused acidity and honeyed dosage. Reserves bring depth of crème pâtissière, concluding with magnificent persistence and enticing allure.
95 points, Tyson Stelzer
Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Blancs Magnum, Our Price $335
(Base Wine 2014, Disgorged 2020)

2nd Course
Charles Heidsieck Rosé Reserve, Our Price $163
(Base Wine 2018, Disgorged 2022)
The pretty and fruity vibe of 2018 is beautifully suited to the purity of Charles Rosé and the focus of this blend more on its base vintage than the reliance of Brut Reserve on reserve wines. Fresh strawberries and red cherries are accented with cranberries and billowing layers of crème brûlée and crème pâtissière. It unites fine chalk minerality with perfectly balanced dosage and intricately integrated acidity. Another great in the lineage of Charles Rosé.
95 points, Tyson Stelzer
Charles Heidsieck Rosé Millésime 2012, Our Price $254
At 12 years of age the voluptuous mood of 2012 in the inimitable Charles style is in a beautiful space of lusciously creamy texture and great complexity of red cherries, accented with pipe smoke, truffles and layers of spice. Boasting a medium salmon copper hue, super fine tannins mesh seamlessly with fine chalk minerality and perfectly integrated dosage. A delightful Charles Rosé.
95 points, Tyson Stelzer

3rd Course
Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve, Our Price $124
(Base Wine 2018, Disgorged 2023)
The depth of resonant complexity that embodies the expansive universe of Charles Heidsieck is encapsulated to grand effect in the 2018 base. The pristine fruit of this voluptuous vintage plays to the mood of Charles, beautifully captured in white peach, fig and baked apple. This is magnificently set against a gorgeous and complex backdrop of deep reserve complexity in powerful mixed spice, fruit mince spice and crème brûlée. It concludes in a fantastic fanfare that sensitively harmonises crystalline chalk minerality, intricately balanced acidity, perfectly honeyed dosage and just the right clip of phenolic texture. Masterfully crafted, and a grand testimony to Cyril Brun’s talent.
95 points, Tyson Stelzer, champagne.guide (Tasted 2024)
Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve Magnum, Our Price $271
(Base Wine 2014, Disgorged 2020)

4th Course
Charles Heidsieck Brut Millésime 2013, Our Price $222
The grand, resonant complexity of Charles is brilliantly juxtaposed with the freshness of the cool and late 2013 season, laying out magnificent layers of grand complexity of grapefruit and lemon, apple and pear, fig, white cherries, and then all the marvels of a decade in the depths in almond croissant, crème pâtissière and mixed spice. The acid drive of this cool season is in a sensational place at 11 years of age, meshing seamlessly with crystalline chalk minerality, setting energising freshness and bearing tingling anticipation of grand longevity.

5th Course
Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires 2014 (Release), Our Price $478
The launch of Blanc des Millénaires 2004 and 2006 at 15 years of age and 2007 and 14 makes 2014 appear young at a full decade of age in its radiant, pale straw hue. The vector of purity presented by the top crus of the Côte des Blancs in this underrated season is magnificent, beautifully wrapped in the creamy, caressing texture and generosity that define Charles. There is an immediacy to this release that reflects a warm and dry harvest in beautifully seductive white peach, fig and all the magnificence of a decade of maturity in brioche, mixed spice and vanilla cream. It presents magnificent line and length, culminating a finish of glittering, showering chalk minerality.
97 points, Tyson Stelzer
Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires 2007, Our Price $ 428
The pristine purity and focus of 2007 Blanc des Millénaires holds it steadfast and resolute, and at 17 years of age its endurance is proclaimed in primary freshness that epitomises the greatest crus of the Côte des Blancs. White peach, grapefruit and lemon unite with apple and pear, basking in the generosity and the creamy texture that build the inimitable mouthfeel of Charles. A glittering cascade of chalk minerality is energised by the beautiful natural acidity of 2007, driving a finish of brilliant line and length, promising a spectacular future over the coming decade.

6th Course
Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires 1996 (Release), Our Price $1065
At a mesmerising 28 years of age, this might go down as the latest first (official) release of a champagne vintage. There is still a brightness of radiant straw to its medium yellow hue, astonishingly luminous for such grand old age. The palate presents a captivating journey that encapsulates its slow passage through almost three decades. This is a cuvée to experience in the absence of any distractions, because you do not want to miss any moment of its thrilling dips and swoops as it reveals its multifaceted dimensions for thirty seconds after you swallow. Some wines reveal their grandeur in undeviating linearity, but here the ride is all about thrilling acceleration and breathtaking turns and swoops! The energy of the greatest crus of the Cote des Blancs sustains purity astonishingly vibrant at this age, still reminiscent of grapefruit, lemon, apple and fig, while the voluptuous personality of Charles is declared in the most enticing glacé pear, crème brûlée and freshly churned butter. Then subtle, grand depth of tertiary arises in white truffle, butter croissant, pipe smoke, candle wax and layers of glorious spice. The finish delivers tremendous concentration true to the fabled 1996 season, presented with persistence and drive. Glittering chalk minerality is energised by enduring acidity, but more than anything it is the glossy, creamy, waxy texture of Charles heightened in grand old age by almost a quarter century on lees that defines its unique magnificence. The house has been exceedingly disciplined in holding off 28 years for its release, finally unleashing it in a mesmerising moment in its grand arc of evolution, which it shows every promise of confidently holding for at least a few more years, without demanding any further age.
