94 points James Halliday
Blackcurrant fruit with touches of mint and leaf lead into a medium- to medium-full-bodied palate; lively and long, it has abundant cassis and blackcurrant fruit, a touch of mint again apparent, but not excessive; has absorbed the new oak, and has very good structure.

93 points Int'l Wine Cellar
Deep ruby. Powerful cassis, blackberry and kirsch aromas are complicated by pungent herbs and suave oak spices. Fleshy and ripe, with liqueur-like dark fruit, bitter chocolate and licorice flavors lifted by a light tough of eucalyptus on the back. Finishes sweet and broad, with outstanding persistence. Built to age but open and succulent already. Still, I'd resist temptation for at least another five years. (10/2007)

92 points Wine Advocate
The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon “Cyril Henschke” includes 9% Merlot in the blend. It spent 18 months in new French oak. The wine offers a subtle perfume of toasty oak, wood smoke, cassis, clove, and black currants. Elegant on the palate with complex, intense flavors, it has enough structure to evolve for 5-7 years and provide pleasure through 2025. (JM) (10/2007)

92 points Wine Enthusiast
From a somewhat difficult vintage, Stephen and Prue Henschke have turned out a wonderful Cab. Eucalyptus, tobacco and cherry aromas lead the way, followed by flavors that add a deep undercurrent of cassis. It’s a big, thickly textured wine, with a long, berry-inflected finish. Not that tannic, it should nevertheless drink well through at least 2015. (2/2008)
